Diary – May task – Survey

We have since collected more responses to our survey totalling to 31 people. I am currently analysing these new results. To be provided with more information that is relevent to the pre-production to our movie, we are hoping that with such a succesfull range of results we can gain an understanding of what is most scary to our auidence.

Also to gain an understanding of the type of music we are wanting to create to make a scary atmosphere, which Joe and Shenny will later go on to create. So the results, which I am analysing, should come in useful when creating our final plot and storyboard in order to really appeal to our target auidence of 15 years + males and females.

Diary – Survey (so far)

From our survey so far we have had 11 responses, we have discovered a range of Horror directors/movies that have been specified by the survey participants. From the ones that have been specified I am going to do research on these movies, what makes them scary and successful, applying our results into our own video clip.

This is going to be extremely helpful when planning our plot, because we have made specific research to engage our audience into the scenario. I am currently focusing on the Alfred Hitchcock movies completing some background research.

Currently our group is working on the production of our plot. We have decided to create a dark twist on a childrens story such as Hansel and Gretel. Our inspiration comes from directors, Tim Burton, who has created a dark twist on childrens story’s such as ‘Charlie and the chocolate factory’ originally written by Roald Dahl. So I am going to find some out information on the original fairy tale and make a plot line which incorporates the original plot from the book… with our own Horror and fantasy twist.

We have decided to stick with the Horror genre and we may possibly throw in some element of Thriller or Fantasy movies to create something different to our Priliminary task. We have decided to stick with the Horror genre to show that we can improve the things that went wrong last time; only with a completley different plot and inspiration.

We are also currently planning our storyboard and I have  created our survey and put it out for people to complete above the age of 15; because our movie is going to be aimed at the ages of 15+.
